Private Enquiry agent Cyrus Barker has just about seen it all—he’s been attacked by assassins, and evil-doers have even nearly killed his dog. But never before has a potential client dropped dead in his office. The moment a member of parliament arrives to consult Barker and his partner Thomas Llewelyn, he falls to the floor. It comes to light that he was poisoned with a cyanide-laced raspberry tart similar to one that takes out an entire family in the East End. Before things can get worse, Barker and Llewelyn are hired by former Prime Minister William Gladstone to pursue the poisoner whom the press has dubbed the “Mad Pie Man.”
For nearly two decades, Will has been adding to his popular Barker and Llewelyn series, which began with Some Danger Involved, winner of the 2005 Oklahoma Book Award. He won the same prize ten years later for another series entry, Fatal Enquiry. He lives with his family in Oklahoma.
