In 1865, the British Government secretly promised a warship to the Confederate States of America in a bid to destabilize its former colonies. Thirty years later, a mysterious delegation with ambitions to revive the Confederacy surfaces in London to force the serving Prime Minister to make good on that pledge. With international relations hanging in the balance, Private Enquiry agent Cyrus Barker and his partner Thomas Llewelyn must thwart a web of prominent figures operating from the shadows to reignite the Civil War. Of all the cases Barker and Llewelyn have solved in their accomplished careers, this might just be the most delicate.
For nearly two decades, Will has been adding to his popular Barker and Llewelyn series, which began with Some Danger Involved, winner of the 2005 Oklahoma Book Award. He won the same prize ten years later for another series entry, Fatal Enquiry. He lives with his family in Oklahoma.
