Join us for a celebration of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel that would make Gatsby himself sweat.
On the evening of Saturday, April 25th, we will be reading The Great Gatsby in its entirety with short breaks between chapters and an intermission. Attendees are encouraged to come in party attire and compete for the title of Best Dressed (to be decided by vote). The café will operate throughout the evening to keep everyone fueled as we beat on against the current of sleepiness.
Volunteers will take turns reading aloud at a podium. Reading will commence at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at midnight, or when the last word has been uttered. It is not expected of every participant to stay until the end, but those who do persevere will receive a party favor in recognition of their stamina.
Full Circle has begun to solicit volunteers to read. They will each be assigned only a few pages, which they will receive in advance if they wish to practice. If you are interested, please fill out the form here. No public speaking experience is necessary. Just come ready to party!
